Pre-Paying Your Mortgage

You may have the right to pay down your mortgage subject to certain terms and
conditions listed in your mortgage documentation. This page will give you access
to information about prepayment and how it can save you money.

If you choose to pay down your mortgage in accordance with its terms in an amount
that is more than allowed by your mortgage then there will be penalties. The amount
and calculation of these penalties is described in your mortgage documentation.

Rates For the Purpose of Interest Rate Differential (IRD) Calculations

For fixed rate mortgages, the calculation of a prepayment penalty will depend on,
among other things, an IRD calculation which for most of our customers is
dependent on current interest rates (please see below if you have a Street Loyalty mortgage). See the tables to determine Streetís current regular / posted interest rates. These rates are subject to change and your calculation will only provide you with an estimate.

References to "Regular Rate", "Posted Rate' and "Street Options Rate" in our mortgage documentation mean the rate in effect at the time specified.

If you have a Street Loyalty mortgage please refer to your mortgage documentation as in some cases the IRD calculation depends in part on the applicable Government of Canada bond rate as opposed to Streetís regular / posted rates.
